FACEIT Anti-Cheat — Can It Be Bypassed in 2026?

November 08, 2026 · 4 min read · ↗ CS2 cheat for matchmaking

FACEIT AC is the most robust anti-cheat for CS2 outside of closed pro tournaments. Here's the honest picture on bypassing it — no hype.

How FACEIT AC Works

FACEIT runs a kernel-level driver that monitors:

  • All processes accessing CS2's memory (including external reads)
  • Loaded kernel modules (driver-level cheats)
  • Virtual machine and hypervisor indicators
  • Known cheat process names and window titles

Unlike VAC/EAC, FACEIT can detect external memory readers because it hooks at the kernel level and monitors cross-process memory access, not just in-process.

What Actually Works Against FACEIT

Honest answer: very little, and it changes monthly. Options that have worked historically:

  • Hypervisor-based cheats — run in a virtual machine layer below the OS. FACEIT can't see processes that don't exist from its perspective. These are expensive, complex, and crash-prone.
  • DMA cheats — Direct Memory Access hardware reads game memory via PCIe without any software process. Undetectable in principle, but requires a second PC and ~$200 hardware.
  • Statistical aimbot — no external memory reading at all; just mouse input manipulation. Bypassable because there's no memory access to detect.

The Practical Recommendation

For FACEIT: play clean or use subtle input-level aim assist only. For regular CS2 matchmaking and Premier (VAC-only), the external build here is safe and free.

FACEIT AC version 2 and Windows 11 24H2

Since mid-2025, FACEIT AC has required Windows 10 build 19045 or Windows 11 build 22621 as a minimum. Version 2.0 of the client, pushed in January 2026, added mandatory TPM 2.0 attestation and Secure Boot enforcement on Windows 11 24H2. Systems with Secure Boot disabled or TPM 1.2 are blocked from joining ranked queues, not just flagged. The driver also now scans for the presence of Hyper-V, VMware Workstation 17.5 and VirtualBox 7.1 by checking CPUID leaf 0x40000000 and the IA32_FEATURE_CONTROL MSR. A common failure case is users who enabled Memory Integrity (HVCI) in Windows Security, which FACEIT now treats as a hypervisor indicator on some builds; disabling core isolation is required before the AC will load. Verification is straightforward: the FACEIT client shows a green shield in the system tray only after the driver reports its version string, currently 2.1.4, to the launcher. If the shield is grey, the driver has not attached and no queue will start.

What DMA hardware actually trips on

Direct Memory Access cheats are not invisible in practice. FACEIT AC 2.x enumerates PCIe devices via SetupAPI and flags any device whose vendor ID is not in a whitelist of known GPUs, NVMe controllers and network cards. Cheap DMA cards based on the PCILeech firmware, typically using a Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA, report vendor IDs such as 0x10EE, which the AC logs. The driver also checks the IOMMU status: if VT-d or AMD-Vi is disabled in BIOS, the AC raises a kernel event that is reviewed manually. A second failure mode is timing: DMA reads add 50 to 200 microseconds of latency per access, and FACEIT's server-side statistics compare hit registration timing against a rolling baseline. Accounts with a consistent 3-sigma deviation in flick timing are queued for manual review, and roughly 4 per cent of flagged accounts are banned each month. Verifying that a DMA setup is not being detected means checking the FACEIT client logs at %ProgramData%\FACEIT\AC\logs for PCI enumeration warnings, not just watching for a ban.

Input-level aim assist detection vectors

Mouse input manipulation is the only category that does not touch game memory, but FACEIT still collects raw input data. The AC hooks Raw Input via a signed filter driver and records the delta between physical mouse movement and the injected cursor position at 1000 Hz. A statistical aimbot that applies a 0.3-degree correction per frame produces a smoothness profile that differs from human input: human flicks have a characteristic acceleration curve with jitter above 2 per cent, while injected corrections are too regular. FACEIT's 2026 model flags accounts where the variance of correction magnitude falls below 0.05 degrees over 500 samples. The practical failure case is over-tuning: users who set smoothing to 0.8 or higher on a 400 DPI mouse often trigger the humanisation check because the correction becomes visibly quantised. Verification is not possible from the client side; the only signal is a silent shadow ban, where matches still launch but the account is placed in a separate pool with other flagged users. Checking recent match history for opponents with abnormally low Steam account ages is the only indirect indicator.
